Vänern is Sweden’s largest lake covering an area of 5648 km ² and the volume 153 km ³. It lies 44 meters above sea level. Lake’s average depth is 27 meters and maximum depth is106 meters. The lake has several archipelagos and a total of 22 000 islands. The largest islands in Lake Vänern is Torsö, 62 km ², near Mariestad; Kållandsö, 56 km ², near Lidköping; and Hammarö, 47 km ², near Karlstad. This photos is taken between Karlstad and Hammarö.
